The atmosphere at the Larkin Stadium was strained when Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) fans began inciting Pahang supporters and players after the FA Cup first leg semi-final round this evening.

More or less, 1,000 fans from the home side assembled in the vicinity of the stadium since 11 pm and declined to scatter notwithstanding calls from the police.
They utilized oppressive words on fans from Pahang and urged the Pahang fans to promptly leave the stadium.

Because of the tensed situation outside the stadium, Pahang fans were kept from leaving the stadium to evade any untoward incidents.

Even with the presence of 500 policemen and Federal Reserve Unit trying to pacify the crowd, they failed to calm the situation. However, the police were able to disperse the crowd after two hours.

The match between JDT and Pahang ended with a 1-1 draw. Thirty thousand fans were recorded to see the event live.

Johor Baharu Selatan deputy police Chief Superintendent, Abdul Samad Salleh when met said police figured out how to keep any untoward episodes from happening and effectively dispersed the crowd even though the standoff lasted for two hours.

Chief Superintendent Abdul Samad Salleh included in his statement that once the crowd had left, the Pahang players and fans were permitted to leave the stadium.

It was believed that the fans were unhappy with a prior occurrence at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan on Feb 7 throughout a Super League match when a bus full of JDT fans was purportedly harmed by Pahang fans.
